My name is Teague McElroy. Legend tells that I was born with a book in my hand, and since then my love for literature grew. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but I’ve lived in Missouri since 2016.

In high school, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a writing tutor and fell in love with peer review. As a freshman in college, I sought out the Writing and Communication Center and started working the spring of 2021. Since working at Missouri S&T’s Writing and Communication Center, I’ve worked with students who needed help on literature reviews, presentations, textual analyses, and other projects. I was promoted to a Team Lead in 2023 where I took on more administration roles such as bookkeeping, designing the new training, and front desk work along with my previous duties as a consultant. I also have experience working asynchronously and online synchronously.

Outside of my work at the Writing and Communication Center, I was also Programming Director and Chief Operator Designee of our campus radio station, KMNR 89.7FM. Here I created semesterly schedules, ran station meetings, and used Excel to create our quarterly reports for the Federal Communications Commission.

I also have had the opportunity to work in food service. While working here, I learned how to communicate with customers and coworkers in effective yet brief ways. I also learned how to manage my time properly when working through the prep work for the restaurant.

As for my personal life, I have a cat named Bean and a bunny named King. When I am not spending time with them, I’m likely to be seen going for a stroll while listening to an album on repeat. I also paint and read in my free time.
